ICT Minister in tree planting campaign

Minister of Information Community Technology and Courier Services Jenfan Muswere took the lead in a NetOne tree planting activity at Harare Hospital a day before the official tree planting day.
Muswere speaking after taking part in a clean up campaign and planting trees, said there was need for everyone to join hands to clean the country and safe guard a green environment.
“The importance of this day is to underline the importance of the national clean up and also the collaboration between various government institutions, that is Harare Hospital, Forestry Commission, Netone, the sports fraternity, ZBC as a media organisation, NADIPE as well in no support of the clean up and also in support of the National tree planting day which will be officially launched probably tomorrow by the president tomorrow, ” he said
The minister rallied NetOne, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, Ministry of ICT, Forestry Commission, Environmental Management Agency, Harare Hospital as well as Caps United Football Club who participated in the clean up campaign and planted tree at the hospital.
Muswere said it is vital for the ministry to engage with telecommunication service providers in carrying out responsibilities outside their expected duties
“As a ministry this is very important for us as we seek to enable the various organisations in terms of technology, that is the centre of the corporate central responsibilities that we have, ” he said.
The minister and the participants planted different trees to serve the purpose of provision of shades as well as for nutrition needs through planting citrus trees.
The tree planting was held ahead of the international commemoration held the first Saturday of December each year.
