ED hands over donations to charity organisations

President Emmerson Mnangagwa handed over donations to charity organisations on behalf of the Republic Cup Charity Trust at a luncheon held at state house yesterday.
The event was graced by senior government officials and Zanu PF who are also trustees of the Charity among them vice president Kembo Mohadi, Sydney Sekeramayi, Zanu PF spokesperson Simon Kaya Moyo and Defence minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri.
Mnangagwa handed over donations to five charitable organizations with four walking away with $50 000 each, 37 blankets, 9 new mobile phones.
The President handed over cheques to Jairos Jiri Mukuwapasi Children’s Centre, Kukuraneshungu Institute, Bongani Care Programme and Rural Unity Development Organisation.
Two other charities Rekai Tangwena Children’s Home and AFM Manica Trust, received $25 000 each, four new mobile phones and 20 blankets.
Mnangagwa who is the patron of the Republic Cup Charity Trust urged Zimbabweans to maintain the spirit of giving those who are less privileged and to support their fellow Zimbabweans.
” I expect the media to also donate to charity organisations through trust since they also have relatives who are less privileged.”
He also expressed gratitude to donors who continue to support the trust calling on more to join.
The trust has been in existence for 33 years with former President Robert Mugabe having led it as patron for 31years.
